The monthly Network Operations Report overview provides a high level view of the performance of the European ATM network in March 2012, whilst the analysis provides a detailed view. The combined reports are also available as a zip file.
Chopin Airport passenger numbers up 5% in March
Chopin Airport handled nearly 696,000 travellers in March 2012, a 4.8% increase year-on-year.
In terms of passengers handled, the third month of 2012 was the second best March in the airport’s history, falling slightly short of its all time high of 714,500 recorded in 2008.
The number of passenger aircraft movements fell to 9,600, a 1.9% fall on the same month last year.
Network Operations Report - February 2012
The general traffic decline that started with the winter season in November 2011 continued with 4.7% less traffic in February 2012 (compared to February 2011). Monthly average en-route ATFM delay per flight was 0.36 minutes.
EUROCONTROL statistics and forecasts
1. European flights down 1% in November, significantly lower than forecasted. The low-cost segment was down 3.8% on November 2010.
2. December update of short-term forecast of flight movements is for 1.6% growth in 2012, a downward revision from the September forecast.
3. IATA expects European airlines to make $600 million loss in 2012, a $900 million downward revision from the September forecast.
4. Oil prices around $107 per barrel in December.
