The last EUROCONTROL report shows air traffic growth and a very good PANSA result in reducing delays in the Polish airspace.
In October 2011, traffic increased by approximately 0.3% compared with October 2010. In the whole year 2011 the traffic is expected to increase by approximately 3.2% compared with 2010.
The average delay per operation was reduced from 2.6 minutes to 2.1 minutes in October 2011 compared with October 2010.The most difficult situation is in the Greek airspace, where the delays are much higher than in previous periods.
80% of total European airspace delay ammount is generated by the deficiencies in the capacity of the air traffic sectors and the lack of ATC staff.
In October 2011, PANSAs share in the total delay was only 728 minutes, which places Agency in the bottom of the list of 20 European ANSPs generating delays.
For comparison - delays in the Greek airspace were almost 13,000 minutes, in Germany - Langen ACC nearly 4 000 minutes and Frankfurt ACC over 5 000 minutes.
