Baltic FAB Strategic Committee Meeting, Warsaw, From 05 Sep 2012 to 06 Sep 2012
The meeting was chaired by the Secretary of State at the Polish Ministry of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy, Tadeusz Jarmuziewicz.
The Polish side was represented by Krzysztof Kapis, Director of the Aviation Department in the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy, Krzysztof Banaszek, President of Polish Air Navigation Services Agency, Maciej Rodak, Vice President of Polish Air Navigation Services Agency, Jerzy Lisowski, Director of Safety and Quality Management Office, Zbigniew Mączka, Vice President of the Civil Aviation Office and officials from the Ministry of Defence and Civil Aviation Office.
The head of Lithuanian delegation was Rimvydas Va?takas, Vice Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania. The Lithuanian Minister was supported by the representatives of the Lithuanian Ministry of Transport and Communications, Civil Aviation Administration and Oro Navigacija and officials from the Ministries of National Defence and Foreign Affairs.
Baltic FAB Project Management Office (PMO) was also taking part in the SC Meeting.
The current status of the Baltic FAB Programme was presented at the meeting and the further actions following the signing of Baltic FAB State Agreement were discussed.
The Strategic Committee accepted the PMO Progress report and approved Baltic FAB PMO/MO provisional budget for 2013 and BALTIC FAB aggregated targets.
Countries establishing a FAB with no common performance plan are required to submit the aggregated targets list to the European Commission, ensuring FAB compliance with the European targets. The adopted document will be delivered to the EC by the Polish and Lithuanian Civil Aviation Administration.
Due to singing of the Baltic FAB State Agreement the governing bodies mentioned in the document could start to work. One of the decisions adopted by the Strategic Committee was to replace the Strategic Committee with the Baltic FAB Board. Starting from the 6th Sept 2012 Baltic FAB Board is the main governing body and determine the strategy in the Baltic FAB. Terms of Reference for the Baltic FAB Council and the Board were also approved by the Strategic Committee.
The final point of the meeting was signing of the Agreement on Cooperation within FAB between the Polish Civil Aviation Office and the Lithuanian Civil Aviation Administration.
