During the second day of Airspace World 2025 Ewelina Kozłowska, Head of the Cyber Security Unit at Polish Air Navigation Services Agency participated in the debate: “Managing Safety Critical Services in the Face of Agile Cyber Threats” together with: David Nieto, Vice President of Aviation Information Sharing and Analysis Center (A-ISAC), Daniela Vassileva, Head of Information Security Department and Data Protection Officer at BULATSA and Olivier Perrin, Chief Safety and Security Officer at skyguide.
Conclusions?
- All ANSPs in the world, including PANSA operate in the complex reality of cyber threats.
- We mitigate them at PANSA by undertaking, among other things, close cooperation with cybersecurity forces, but we are aware of the constant risks.
- Cyber threats toward aviation sector are becoming more sophisticated and targeted, especially with the increasing digitalization of critical systems like surveillance, communication and data exchange.
- We, like all other ANSPs, are exposed for AI-driven attacks, used to automate and amplify cyberattacks, including phishing, social engineering, and malware distribution.
However in PANSA we are always prepared. Our approach is based on three pillars: awareness, background check and trainings, said Ewelina Kozłowska, Head of Cyber Security Unit at PANSA.
