On March 17, 2025, the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency had the honor of hosting representatives of the European Commission.
The EC was represented by Magda Kopczyńska, Director General of DG MOVE, Erki Must, DG MOVE SESAR team leader, Antoine Kedzierski, Assistant to the Director General and the representatives of CANSO Europe – Mario Kunovec-Varga, CEO of Croatia Control, EC3 vice chair, Sabine Hornig, Political Affairs & Business Development Director at DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH, and Johnny Pring, Manager Policy and Advocacy at CANSO Europe.
The meeting at PANSA headquarters in Warsaw was also attended by Julian Rotter, President of the Polish Civil Aviation Authority.
The aim of the meeting was focused on:
– Presenting to the EC the daily operational work at PANSA – Training Academy, ASM, ACC, TWR, iSNEX ATM System test and validation platform,
– Discussing under the CANSO auspices the long-term, structural solutions to support provision of more airspace capacity to match the demand from growth in traffic,
– Presenting the traffic recovery scenarios,
– Confirming how much SESAR Joint Undertaking and SESAR Deployment Manager programs have contributed to the technological development of ATM systems operationally used by ANSPs including PANSA and how continuing these activities is needed to achieve ATM Master Plan and Single European Sky goals. The way forward where ATM systems are based on the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) model was outlined.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of companies involved in development projects in the ATM sector: Leonardo, Indra, Thales and Frequentis.
