PANSA services:

Polish Air Navigation Services Agency’s Flight Inspection Unit strengthens its position in Moldova

PANSA’s Flight Inspection Unit was selected for the second time by the Moldavian Air Navigation Service Provider – MoldATSA, to perform annual flight inspection of air navigation aids.

The contract signed by the Polish and Moldovan ANSPs is a result of both good cooperation between the two in 2020, as well as PANSA winning MoldATSA’s tender.

The contract covers the in-flight check of instrument landing systems (ILS), very high-frequency Omni-directional range beacons (DVOR) and distance measuring equipment (DME) in Chisinau. The flights in Moldova are scheduled for October 2021.

During the crisis, PANSA focuses on business development and innovation activities. Searching for new sources of financing is crucial for the future of the Agency since its main income comes from air navigation charges which dropped significantly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These kind of activities help to maintain financial liquidity in the event of a considerable decrease of air traffic followed by drastically lower revenues. Due to financial difficulties caused by the current pandemic, the Agency sees a great potential in sale of its services and products such as PANSA’s Flight Inspection Services.

Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, PANSA’s Flight Inspection Unit has not only completed a record number of foreign flight inspection missions, but also achieved the highest revenues in the last 5 years. Income from domestic and foreign flight inspection services in 2020 amounted to 877,000 PLN.

PANSA’s Flight Inspection Unit was established in 1963. Its tasks include flight inspection of airport ground facilities and validation of instrumental flight procedures. PANSA’s Flight Inspection Unit fleet currently consists of a Beechcraft King Air 350i aircraft.
