It aims to promote good practices in the field of sustainable development. By digitalizing internal processes from 2024 onwards, PANSA confirms on a daily basis, its responsible activities in this field.
The PANSA Training Academy, which educates candidates for air traffic controllers, has been building and implementing the Electronic Practice Card application since May 2024. The app was created by PANSA and it gradually eliminates the need to fill in paper practice cards.
These are essential documents for the training process for candidates, but also active controllers and FIS informers. As of February 2025, the Academy team has extended the use of the Electronic Practice Card to almost all training taking place at the Academy and is preparing to digitalize training in operational units as well. At the same time, we are optimizing operational activities in this regard.
Thanks to digitization, from 1 May 2024 until today, PANSA has saved 10398 A4 sheets printed on both sides. This is the equivalent of just under 21 reams and 51.88 kg of paper. Throughout 2025, we expect to save a total of more than 10,000 A4 sheets, and in 2026 already a total of more than 20,000 (more than 100 kg of paper).
In the following years, once all operational units are covered by the electronic system, PANSA forecasts that paper savings will be four times higher than now and will reach a saving of more than 40,000 A4 sheets per year (more than 200kg of paper per year).
We are committed to further care for the environment as it goes hand in hand with development. The implementation of good practices in this field is in our DNA.
