Aerial work refers to aerial operations in which an aircraft is used for specialized services as such as agriculture, construction, photography, surveying, observation, inspection, patrol, search and rescue or aerial advertising.
Operations related to aerial works must be reported to the Polish Air Navigation Agency for coordination with the relevant ATS service at a minimum of 5 working days in advance, and in cases of flights involving coordination with several ATS authorities at a minimum of 7 working days.
Flights in controlled airspace and those flights in uncontrolled airspace that, due to the nature of aerial work, require priority or arrangements with other users of flexible airspace structures are subject to coordination.
Search and rescue, surveillance and patrol flights are not subject to notification. Such flights must be carried out in accordance with the regulations for the relevant class of space.
The notification should include, in particular, information such as:
Flight operations in ATZ and MCTR/MTMA must be prior coordinated with the airports competent autohority or with the main user of the airport in question.
Flights in restricted areas (R), prohibited areas (P), dangerous areas (D): see AIP Poland ENR 5.1
Flights in the ADIZ (air defense identification zone): see AIP Poland ENR 5.2.2.
In planning of aerial works, the operator/flight organizer shall take into account the availability of airspace (check AUP/UUP) and actual activity of flexible airspace elements (in AMC Poland). The operator/organizer is responsible for compliance with regulations and for having all relevant documents to perform aerial works.
Besides conditions specified in AIP Poland ENR 5 pt.5, the flights of manned aircraft with propulsion in zones P, R, D are obliged to file a FPL and maintain two-way radio communication with the territorially competent ATS unit.
