The SOFIAXL Consortium's offer for the CS4 system has officially been submitted
Polish Air Navigation Services Agency is a part of the SOFIAXL Consortium, the goal of which is to supply the CS4-AFUAS system to EUROCONTROL, and then to ensure support and operation of this system in order to provide services for the European air navigation market.
In response to the second tender, announced by EUROCONTROL, for the supply and provision of CS4-AFUAS services, the SOFIAXL Consortium has prepared and formally submitted an offer for the implementation of this order.
The SOFIAXL Consortium aims to supply a demonstrator of the CS4-AFUA system (Phase 1 - the years 2016-2017), and then, after signing an optional agreement, it wants to provide the service of AFUA data distribution and analysis for users connected to the centralized system (Phase 2 - 5 years starting from 2018).
The CS4-AFUAS system will allow both civilian and military users to utilize the European airspace in the most efficient manner, as well as to reduce the cost of infrastructure maintenance. The implemented solution will improve both the safety and the efficiency of utilization of airspace in Europe. The Centralized System (CS) number 4 is one of the key priorities identified by EUROCONTROL and at the same time the first service, for which a tender has been announced.
Today, the deadline set by EUROCONTROL for the submission of offers passes; the SOFIAXL Consortium has kept all the deadlines associated with the offer submission procedure.
Should the SOFIAXL Consortium's offer in the ongoing tender be chosen, upon signing of an agreement between the SOFIAXL Consortium and EUROCONTROL, the part of the project implemented by PANSA can provide income in the amount of approx. 0.5 million EUROs in Phase 1 and approx. 1 million EUROs per year in Phase 2.
Signing of the agreement between EUROCONTROL and the bidder/consortium, selected during the ongoing tender for the supply of CS4-AFUAS is planned for the first quarter of 2016.
